“Special Chabbis” completed 8th week on home box office with 10
lakhs figure from fewer screen. Now, total domestic collection is around 72.25
crores. This is among one of the classic film of Akshay Kumar which pleased
both critics and audience. Now, it got hit status. If it had released over big
number of screens and not lost screens on each coming week, then it would have been
a blockbuster film.
On the whole, film did good business and recovered production cost
42 crores in very first week. Now, it completed life time with 87.25 crores
worldwidely excluded theatrical right, satellite right and music right. When
script of this film was brought to Akshay Kumar, he was so impressed with
content that he immediately signed and took only half of remuneration.
Resultantly, he got reward of audience.
Snopsis & summery of 56 days:- “Special Chabbis” is a heist
story. The film is based on real incident happened in 80’s when a common man
had appointed 26 people as a CBI officers. They did fake raid and robbed
corrupt leaders, officers and businessmen. The film starrer Akshay Kumar, Kajal
Aggrawal, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpai and Jimmy Shergil in lead role. It was
released on 8th February over 1750 screens.
The film took ordinary opening but exceptionally well reviews and
excellent word of mouth help it to grow further. Film finished first weekend
24.50 crores and 1st week with 44.35 crores.
After that every week it lost some screens due to multiple release. Film
collected 18 crores in 2nd week, 5.5 crores in 3rd week, 2,25 crores in 4th
week, 1.15 crores in 5th week, 46 lakhs in 6th week, 19 lakhs in 7th week and
10 lakhs in 8th week.
The film finished 56 days journey on the box office and collected
around 87.25 crores worldwidely and total domestic collection 72.25 crores.
Now, domestic life time collection would be around 72.30 crores and life time worldwide
collection around 87.30 crores.
