"Iron Man 3" had started fantastically on Friday
with occupancy around 75% across the country. The film did superb business in
multiplex and remains below in single screens where Bollywood film Aashiqui 2 dominated.
Business in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Banglore and Maysore was superb (75-80%), therefore
it grossed 7.75 crores on first day.
Film received positive word of mouth and positive reviews;
therefore it started with better occupancy and took around 25-27% jump on
Saturday and continues superb business in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Maysore and
Banglore. Again, it dominated multiplex and remains first choice of audience. Film
grossed huge 9.25 crores on Saturday and brings two days total 17 crores nett.
The film missed to break biggest Hollywood opener in
India by slight margin but performance is superb if consider the number of
screens (1000). Such kind of performance can only seen on holiday. Now, it will
be interesting to see, what will be occupancy on Sunday; 90% or 100%? If it
happens then it would be another record. Right now, Sunday collection looks
around 9.50 crores. It will finish weekend around 26.25 crores.
