Emraan Hashmi starrer film “Ek Thi Daayan” opened with decent
figure on Friday. Overall occupancy across the country was around 40% and film
collected 6.25 crores.
The film did good business in multiplex but remained
average in mass belt which surprised everyone. Emraan Hashmi is supposed to be
hero of mass but response of public in mass belt has created illusion. Reason may
be its content which is somewhat urban.
If we talk about reviews it is good to average and public response
is positive which will help film to improve further. As far as Saturday
business is concerned it took 15-20% jump, at some places it was 60-65%.
Overall occupancy was above 50%. It did very good business in Delhi, NCR, and
other big cities but remained low in mass belt.
Second day business was good and it collected around 5.25 crores
which bring two days total domestic collection around 13.75 crores. Since it is
low budget film so it will recover production cost on first weekend. Next day
is holidaying so big jump is expected and weekend collection should come around
22 crores which would be handsome figure.
