Balajii Tele films’ film “SHOOTOUT AT WADALA” has taken fantastic
opening on Friday. The film started with positive note in the morning shows and
grew gradually with some jump in noon and matinee show but surprisingly, it showed big jump
in the evening shows. Where occupancy in morning shows was around 35% average
across the country, it reached up to 65% at some places. Overall first day
occupancy is around 50-55%. Advance booking for evening show was also very
good.
If we talk about it performance, the
film gets fantastic opening in mass belt like CI, CP, Gujrat, Nizam and North
India but its performance in metro and multiples was not bad, it also took
fantastic opening in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgawn.
It is early to say about first day
collection but it should come around 12-13 crores very close to Race-2. If film
takes big jump in the night show, then figure would be different.
Since, it is released over more than
2500 screens so big opening is expected and trend showing that. SAW is
an action crime film and sequel of “Shootout at Lokhandwala” so film will do
better. Further business will depend on reviews and word of mouth which will
bring it to new height.
The film is directed and written by
Sanjay Gupta and there are very popular name like, Jonh Abraham, Kangna Ranuat,
Manoj Bajpai, Sonu Sood, Anil Kapoor and Tussar Kapoor in lead role so it will
grow on coming day. First weekend collection should come around 32-38 crores.
STORY:
The story of the film is based on the book “Dongri To Dubai” written by Hussain
Zaidi and inspired by the real life incident transpired in Mumbai on 1st,
November, 1982; when a gangster Manya Surve was shot dead near Dr, Ambedkar
College, Wadala, Mumbai. This was first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai
police.
