“SHOOTOUT
AT WADALA” is a Balaji Tele Films presentation with popular name John
Abraham, Manoj Bajpai and Tushar Kapoor. The film had started positively on
Friday with 9.50 crores but showed unexpected drop on Saturday and managed less
than Friday. Further it received positive to mix public response and improved
on Sunday with good jump. The film finished weekend with 28.20 crores.
There was doubt about weekday’s
performance but it manages properly and removed all illusion. Film showed
around 60% drop on Monday from Sunday which is big drop for a U or U/A certified
film but it is an adult film so drop was normal weather it was release over
around 2400 screens. The film did almost similar business on entire weekday’s
with slight drop. If we talk about Thursday business it collected around 3.10
crores.
Now, it completed tour of 7 days on home
box office and collected 43.Overall performance of SAW is satisfactory in first
week but second week would be not so comfortable due to three new releases Karan
Johar’s Jippi, Saif Ali Khan’s Go Goa Gone and YR films’.
It will get tough
competition with same genre film Aurangzeb starrer Arjun Kapoor. Film can lose
big number of screen space and business will get affected. Right now, 2nd
weekend collection should come at least around 10 crores, let see what really happens.
