Aashiqui 2 ruled over home
box office in first week. The film had done superb business on first weekend with
19.55 crores and surprised everyone with weekday business. The film did
exceptionally well on weekday and collected incredible amount 18.50 crores. Now,
it has finished first week run and garnered 37.25 crores.
Since it is a low budget film 16
crores, which recovered on weekend so film is in big profit, film has earned
more the double of budget in first week. Now, it is sure to get super hit
status and there is fair chance to become first blockbuster film of year 2013,
The film lost fewer screen due to mega
release of “Shootout At Wadala” and “Bombay Talkies” but it will not get affected
by new releases. Though Shootout At Wadala is also a single screen dominated movie
but Aashiqui 2 has not lost more screens. It can get some competition with SAW
but film will do good business in 2nd week as it is trending with 2nd Friday
business.
The film started well in the morning
show and grows as day grew. Film collected around 3.50 crores which gives good
indication of better second week collection. Now, it has finished 8 days journey
and brings total domestic collection around 40.75 crores. So film will not only
cross the bench mark of 50 crores but it can go beyond 55 crores. 2nd weekend
collection looks around 12 crores.
