“Life of Pi”
took fantastic opening on Indian box office as it was expected. The film was
released on Friday in 2D and 3D format in four Indian languages; Enlish, Hindi,
Telgu and Tamil. The film has taken very good opening of 3.5 crores on first day.
This is film
of Oscar winner filmmaker Ang Lee’s and six Indian actors have played important
role in this film including the lead actor, Suraj Sharma (debutant), Tabu and
Irfan Khan.
The film
showed good jump on Saturday and accumulated 4.5 crores. In two days it has
accumulated 8 crores and first weekend looks around 12-14 crores. In the crowd
of six films this amount will be considered a decent amount. Now first weekend
collection looks around 18-20 crores and lifetime collection on Indian box office
would be 25-28 crores.
