2nd day- India 1st Inning 521/8, Pujara made unbeaten Double century

India is in very comfortable position in 1st test match against England. India declared first inning on 521/8. In reply England made 41 runs and lost 3 wickets.

India started 2nd day’s game from 323/4 and declared first inning after tea, on 521/8. The attraction of Indian inning was outstanding unbeaten double century of Cheteshwar Pujar, Century of Virendar Sahwag, after two years, and fascinating 74 runs of Yuvraj Singh, after fighting against cancer.

Wherever first day’s attraction was Sahwag’s  century in test cricket after more than two years duration, there, second day’s attraction was Pujara’s unbeaten double century (206*). He played superbly and treated all English bowlers equally. Every English bowler was looking very compelled against him.

The way he played shorts and his style reminds us Rahul Dravir. It looks as India got another Rahul Dravir. He played shorts in each side of the ground. Besides him Yuvraj Singh played a super inning of 74 runs, unfortunately he could not reach near century.

At the end of 2nd day’s game England were 41/3. Ashwin picked up 2 wicketss and Ojha picked up one wicket. The host is in a precarious position at the end of day second. Alasttair Cook and Kevin Pietersen are at the crease and have great responsibility.
