India won
1st test match against England by 9 wickets. Today England started their inning
from 340 runs for 5 wickets. Captain Alastair Cook who played superbly on 4th day
could not do much today and finished his inning on 176 runs.
Matt Priort
who also played a brilliant inning yesterday lost his wicket after adding few
runs in his yesterday score and got out at 91 runs. Indian bowler did not take much
time to bind English inning and whole English team got all out at 406 runs in
154.3 overs.
England set
target of 77 runs for India to win. India chased this easy goal after losing
one wicket of Sehwag (25 runs) and won the match by 9 wicket. Sehwag tried to
send the ball forcefully over the boundary line but unfortunately caught by Kevin
Petersen at boundary line. He took a difficult catch.
In Indian
victory there was team work but there was especial contribution of Sehwag (117
runs & 25runs), Cheteshwar Pujara (206 run not out & 41 runs not out),
Pragyn Ohja (9 wickets), Ashwin (4 wickets), Umesh Yadav (4 wickets)and Zaheer
Khan (2 wickets).
From England
side Captain Alastair Cook (41 runs & 176 runs) and Matt Priort (48 runs
& 91 runs) played a key role in batting in both innings. If these two
batsman had not played well, England would have faced a very humiliating
defeat.
