Boss - Excellent in Mass Area, 2nd day Worldwide Collection

Though Boss had an ordinary opening on day first as it was somewhat less than expected figure but good news is that film is continuously getting positive word of mouth. Though its performance in multiplex is less than expected mark but performance in single screen is excellent as we are receiving reports from various centers till now.

The film is running on the track of “Wanted” as I told yesterday. “Wanted” was hit film and it proved sanjivini (nectar) for Salman Khan who was struggling for a hit film for a long time. Wanted had also very low collection from multiplex but single screen's performance brought it in hit zone, That’s why there is no point to ponder for makers, actor or even Akshay Kumar’s fan. The way film is performing from last two days, is not on expected mark but there is fair chance of getting hit-status.

 Boss is typical Bollywood mashala film like Wanted, Dabangg, Singham, Rowdy Rathore and recently released Chennai Express and there is nothing wrong with film. Only fact is that 2013 is not good for Akshay Kumar, as “Special Chabbis” despite unique and good content along with great appreciation of critics and audience got only semi hit status and OUATIMD could not get its worth.

Now let us talk about 2nd day performance. The film showed little drop on Thursday which is normal for a working day. Film was very good in single screen and below par in multiplex due to first day collection otherwise it was also normal. Film has collected around 8.90 crores* on second day and total domestic collection after two day is around 20.79 crores. The film is doing excellent business in UP, Bihar, MP, Rajsthan, Haryana and Delhi which will surely bring it in at least safe zone. And word of mouth is very strong in these areas so film can get clean hit status.

The film also did ordinary business in overseas and collected around 4.50 crores and bring total worldwide collection is around 25.29 crores. Film will continues same trend today but it will show jump on Saturday and Sunday, what extent, time will say. Right now, weekend collection looks in the range of 48-53 crores.
