Boss - will Super hit or Flop?

Boss is third film of Akshay Kumar in 2013, his first film was, “Special Chabbis” which was released on February over 1350 screens. Film gathered great appreciation from film critics, experts and audience but had to satisfy with semi hit status. His second film was “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Doublara” and there was great expectation with this film but film could not do much on box office due to screen distribution agreement happened between two production houses after long fight. Both films were mass dominated film and OUATIMD did not get that and this was main reason for failure of this film.

There is a long list of reason which is already discussed in various posts, so I'll not discuss it here. Here, I’ll inform you what is with Akshay’s latest film “Boss”. Boss is an action comedy film directed by Anthony D’Souza and co-produced by Cape of Good Films & Ashwin Varde Productions. Akshay Kumar has played title role Boss who is Haryanwi Don. Special and shocking news is that there is no any leading lady of Akshay in this film. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborti, Shiv Pandit, Aditi Roy Hydari, Ronit Roy are in lead role. Sonakhsi Sinha has played a cameo. Music of film is composed by three musican, Meet Bros Anjjan, Yo Yo Hani Singh and Chirantan Bhatt. Lyrics is penned by by Kumaar, Mano Yadav & Sahil Kaushal.

Boss is remake of Malayam’s super hit film Pokkari raja and story is revolves around Don Boss.  Though Akshay’s film has not done well in 2013 so far as in 2012; when he had given four hit out of five films and three out of them were super hit and blockbuster, Housefull 2 (SH), Rowdy Rathore (BB) and Oh My God (ABB).

Now, his third film Boss is releasing on 16th October, on the eve of Bakrid, a national holiday. Film has made good buzz in the market and has almost all those factor which massy audience like so there is fair probability. Performance of Akshay’s last film may stand a huddle in the way of huge opening, but it is fact that nobody knows when one’s bad or good time starts. It may possible Akshay rocks again with Boss like Rowdy Rathore.

So far, whatever indication has received, is in favor of film whether it is music reviews or trailer’s response of critics. Since it is supposed to release over 3000-3300 screen so it may be biggest opener of Akshay Kumar.

Last year his blockbuster film “Rowdy Rathore had become biggest non-holiday opener and hold this title till 22nd December, 2012 when Dabangg 2 released. Rowdy Rathore had released over 2600 screen and opened with 15.50 crores. Boss is releasing on more than 500-800 screens than RR so figure should be bigger, but the fact is that Boss has not that kind of buzz so we can not expect that it will open around 30 crores whenever it has that kind of potential.

Public Response of Theatrical trailer: When first official theatrical trailer of film was release on You Tube on 27th August, it had taken fantabulous response from audience and critics alike. The trailer was viewed more than 30 lakhs or 3 million times in just in 10 days.

USP: X-factor of this film is death defying heart pumping stunt by Akshay Kumar, In Akshy’s own word, he has done career’s most dangerous stunt in this film. Most of stunt has been shot on the soil of Thailand, where Akshay has learnt Marshal Art. An action sequence of climax has been shot in very hot temperature, more than 47 degrees Celsius, by Akshay Kumar and Ronit Roy successfully.

It’s music and trailer has gotten green flag by film experts and critics so we hope it will take good opening and further business will definitely depends on word of mouth, if it’ll be good film will flourished on box office. If fill will get good response then figure would have been somewhat like this.

Prediction:-

Opening:  15 -22 crores

1st Weekend:- 60-80 crores

1st Week:- 90-105 crores

2nd Week:- 25-30 crores

Life Time Domestic:- 125-140 crores

Overseas:- 20-30 crores.

Conclusion: - Youthplanet opined Boss will garner in the rage of 120-130 crores nett in its lifetime with super hit status but cannot deny with blockbuster status. ReaI figure can vary, it depends on content, public's mood and word of mouth.

What do you thing about Boss, let us know your view.
