The Dark Knight Rises affected by Olympic, Maker hopes $1 billion globally (2nd Saturday)






“The Dark Knight Rises” has successfully completed 1st week and collected $ 374 million worldwidely. The last film of this series was come in 2008 “The Dark Knight” which had earned more.


On 2nd Friday, there was fall in collection and it has collected 18 million. The business of “The Dark Knight Rises” has affected by London Olympic. In 10 days the film has collected $ 243 million on domestic box office. That is certainly behind the $261.4 million “The Dark Knight” (2008). The situation is same as it was in 2008. The film makers are hoping to earn $400 million on domestic box office and $1 billion worldwidely.


It has also completed its first week run on the Indian box office and entered 2nd week. It has done good business on 2nd Saturday and collected around 00.70 crores. Now it’s 9 days collection on Indian box office is 27.75 crores. The film has done fantastic business in week first and emerged as one of the top Hollywood grosser of year 2012 in India.



In first week it has given competition to big Bollywood film “Bol Bachchan” and “Cocktail”. But in second week it is getting tough competition with new Bollywood release “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum”. This film has shrunken “TDR” on few screens in limited show. It may be last week of this film on Indian box office.  



Another Hollywood Movie “Ice Age 4” has released and it is also giving tough competition to it. So its way in this week would be difficult.  Its life time collection would come around 30-32 crores on Indian box office.
