India defeated Sri Lanka in third One Day International match played on July 29, 2012 on the ground of Colombo by 5 wickets.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Sri Lanka made 286/5 in fifty overs. Sangakar, Jayawardhane and Mathues played a responsible inning and contributed 73, 65, and 71 runs inning. Zaheer Khan took two wicket and Pathan, Dinda and Sharma took one wicket each.
In reply Indian started her inning but in the beginning it got great jolt in the form of Virendra Sahwag. He made only 3 runs. But after that Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kolhi manage inning and brought the team in respectable position.
Gambhir played superbly and made a century(102runs) and Kohli made 38 runs. Rest of the work was done by Raina and Pathan. Both played responsible and superb inning and made the required run. Irfan Pathan finished the match by hitting boundary. Raina made 65 not out and Pathan 34 not out. India won the match by 5 wickets. Now, in the series of 5 ODI, India is taking lead by 2-1.
