“Joker” got dull response in initial show. There was 15-22% occupancy in the initial show all over India. It is unexpected opening for this film.
This is Akshay Kumar’s third film in this year. Last two films Housefull-2 and Rowdy Rathore was blockbuster and earned more than 100 crores but initial response of “Joker” is very disappointing and it is shocking for Shirish Kundar and bad for Akshay’s image. The film also got negative critic’s review. Most of the critics, news channel and website has given only 1or 1.5 stars out of 5.
At this moment film is in middle and its opening day collection depends on evening show and night show. If there would be huge jump, then film will collect 6-8 crores otherwise it will collect in the range of 4-6 crores. Now the film is depend on word of mouth. If it would positive then film will improve.
Its future is also depend on collection of Saturday and Sunday. If there would be big jump then film will manage. This film has promoted as kid’s film so there is hope that on Saturday and Sunday family audience would like to see it.
Most noticeable thing is that Akshay Kumar was not seen anywhere in the promotion campaign. There is buzz that Akshay was not satisfied with film and he is annoyed with Shirish Kunder. He is doing promotion of his next film “Oh My God” but not for “Joker”. It looks as he is realy annoyed with Shirish Kunder.
Let see what happens in remaining shows and on weekend.
