Miss China, Wenxia Yu won the title of Miss World 2012 held in China on Saturday, 18th August, 2012. Miss Wales Sophie Elizabeth Moulds became first runner up and Miss Australia Jessica Michelle Kahawaty became second runner up.
This is the second time in the history of Miss World when Miss China has won the title. The winner of 2011, Miss World Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela handed over her crown to Wen at the glittering ceremony held in Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium. The 23-year-old Wenxia Yu is a music student and she wants to be a music teacher.
Miss India could not able to make place in top three but she did bag the titles of Miss Social Media and Beauty with a Purpose. Her dance performance on the track of 1981’s film “Umrao Jaan” “Dil cheez Kay Hay” gave her place in top seven.
This beauty contest was happened in mining city of China, 100 kilometer away from sea. Billions of people watched this contest on Television.
