“Ek Tha Tiger” has done fantabulous business in first week (9 days) and collected 145.50 crores on domestic box office. In first week it broke lots of records and made some new records. But in second week, it has seen big drop on Friday and collected only 4.25 crores.
The film improved again on 2nd Saturday and occupancy increased up to 60-65% from Friday and it managed to collect about 7 crores. It is not a bad amount but compare to 3 Idiots it not good. Now the second weekend collection would come around 18-20 crores which is very less than “3 Idiots” which had managed 33 crores in 2nd weekend.
The film has done fantastic business in overseas centers and managed to collect around 32 crores. In the run of 11 days, it has collected 156 cores on Home Box Office and 188 crores worldwidely. Now it looks tough to reach near 3 Idiots’ record.
It is expected that it will show some more jump on Sunday. The second week collection looks around 32 crores. Next week another Super star Akshay Kumar’s film “Joker” is releasing. Akshay’s last two films “Housefull-2” & “Rowdy Rathore” were blockbuster and “Joker” has earned good complement from Censor Boar: So “Ek Tha Tiger will get tough competition with it. Its way in third week would be difficult.
