India defeated New Zealand in 1st Test match by one inning and 115 runs, the match was played in Hyderabad. In the victory of India two players played a key role. First, Cheteshwar Pujara who made 159 runs and helped India to bring the total 438 runs in first inning. Second is Ravichandran Ashwin who gave his best performance of career and took 12 wickets in test match. Six wickets in each inning.
On first day, after winning the toss India elected to bat first and made 438 runs in first inning. Cheteshwar Pujara (159), Mahendrea Singh Dhoni (73) played major role to make big score. In reply, New Zealand all out at 152 runs in first inning and compelled to play fall-on. Indian spin attack did not let them play and compelled to play wrong shot.
The story of second inning is was not different, New Zealand started well but later when spin attack came, they repeat the same story. Once again Ashwin destroyed New Zealand’s inning and took 6 wickets. In one test match he took 12 wickets. It is his best performance. New Zealand got all out at meager 164 runs. They lost the last seven wickets for 26 runs.
Now the series of two test match India lead with 1-0.
