“Ek Tha Tiger” is doing well on weekday. It has done good business on 2nd Tuesday and collected about 2.75 crores. In the tour of 14 days it has collected 214.87 crores worldwidely and 172.65 crores on home box office. The film has done phenomenal performance all over India.
The credit of success of film goes to Star power of Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Yas Raj Film’s banner & its marketing , Kabir Khan’s excellent direction and of course, coincidence of amazing holiday. If this film had been released on other occasion, it would not have done so great performance.
The comparison of Ek tha Tiger with 3 Idiots is going on everywhere. It is near to it but next week another big moive “Joker” is releasing. Yesterday (28th August), it was released in South Africa and it is getting good public response. So the performance of this film on Home box office looks positive. There is very less chances of its failure. So, touching or crossing the mark fixed by 3 Idiots would be difficult.
If the business of “Ek Tha Tiger” will be unaffected by “Joker”, in that case it can touch or cross the “3 Idiots” record of domestic box office but to break the overseas collection (123 crores) is not possible. In 14 days it has collected more than 42 crores and maximum, it will go around 45 crores.
It is expected that film will collect around 32 crores in second week. As the trend is developed the lifetime collection will come around 195-198 crores on home box office and total worldwide collection would be around 235 crores.
