Australia won the rain affected 2nd league match against
West Indies and make first position in group B. On Friday, Australia will play first match of super-8 against
India.
West Indies won
the toss and gave a massive target of 192 runs to Australia. Master blaster
Chris Gayle (54 runs) and Marlon Samuels (50 runs) played an important role in
massive score 191/8.
In reply, Australia begun to chase massive total but the
match was interrupted when it was progressing in 10th over. At that moment
Australia was at 100/1 in 9.1 overs, 17 runs ahead of West Indies on the
Duckworth/Lewis method. The match was
delayed and at 10:30 pm, result was declared. Australia won the match by 17
runs on Derkworth/ Lewis method.
