“Raaz-3” has collected only 1 crores on 2nd Monday which is less than expectation. It seems as film has lost its charm in second week. It can not be said that “Barfi” has affected its business because it is multiplex dominated film and released only on 300 single screens whereas “Raaz-3” is single screens dominated film. So it will be dishonest to say that “Barfi” has snatched its audience.
Actually, Horror films have a certain group of audience and such kind of films does not earn much money. But the case of “Raaz-3” is different. This is mixture of horror and sex plus star value of Emraan Hashmi. That is why this film had done stupendous business in first week but now, in second week, its business is suddenly got down. Now its business is, mostly, depend on repeat audiences.
The film showed about 60% fall in occupancy from 2nd Friday to 2nd Monday. This fall clearly shows reduction of repeat audiences. People prefer to see a romantic and comedy film rather than a horror and sexy film, that is why, it is under performing in 2nd week.
The film has collected only 8.75 crores on 2nd weekend that is at least 3.25 crores less than expected amount. Now, 2nd week collection looks around 12-14 crores. The film has collected 64.80 crores on home box office and its worldwide collection is 67.50. The life time collection looks around 68-72 crores.
