Today’s breaking news is Shahrukh Khan starrer only film of this
year “Chennai Express” which was scheduled to release on 8th August, 2013, on
the eve of Eid festival has been postponed. This news is confirmed by UTV
Motion Pictures. One can see this news on Twitter. Now this film will be release on 9th August.
As we know that there was great fight between two production house
Balaji Telefilms and UTV Motion Pictures for (screen space) Eid release. Balaji
Tele films had announced release date of her most ambition and one the most
awaited film Akshay Kumar starrer film “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Doubara 2” in the beginning of the
year but later UTV Motion Picture decided to release their most ambitious
venture Chennai Express on same date.
They offered a deal to theater owner, “if want Himmatwala, keep
same screen space for Chennai Express”. This deal had upset Balaji Tele Films supreme
Ekta Kapoor. In reply, she also had offered a deal. Worst performance of “Himmatwala”
made UTV’s claim week, but once again luck favor them and “Yeh Jawani Hai
Deewani” become third biggest all time blockbuster film, brought back in strong
position.
Resultantly, a deal was happened between two production houses.
According to that deal “Chennai Express will be release on 8th August and “Once
Upon A Time In Mumbai Doubara 2” will be release on 15th August. Instead of
this deal UTV Motion Picture will extend it’s next big film “Satyagrah” to 30th
August so that OUATIMD 2 can get enough time.
