Satyagraha- Awesome, 1st Weekend Worldwide Collection

Prakash Jha directed multi-star film “SATYAGRAHA” has done fantastic performance on weekend and garnered handsome figure. The film had started with average occupancy on Friday in initial show but improved later by positive word of mouth and managed around 11.20 crores. Again it showed good jump on Saturday and managed around 13.50 crores.

The film had received mixed reviews but it could not affect performance; it looks as content and performance of Big stars proved heavier than reviews. Audience mesmerized with stunning performance of Giga star Amitabh Bachchan and super star Ajay Devgyn, that is why it benefited by positive word of mouth therefore film did outstanding performance on Sunday. Occupancy was around 60-70% and film managed around 15 crores; figure can vary slightly.

The film did very well in mass areas and performed better than Saturday in multiplex. Now, the total domestic collection on weekend is around 40 crores; the film also did good business on overseas centers and managed around 10 crores therefore total worldwide collection reached more than 49 crores.

The film should finish first week around 55-60 crores that would be fantastic. The film is giving tough competition to last week released film “Madras Café” and “Chennai Express”. Real test of film will start on Monday, if sustains well then comfortable reach in profitable zone. Next week, new film will reduce screens space but will that affect its business, time will say.
