“Chennai Express” is still running over limited screens and has completed 5th week successfully on home box office. The film did good business in fifth week too and added around 2 crores in total. Now total domestic collection after five is around 220.40 crores and total worldwide collection is around 334.40 crores.
Though its screens occupancy reduced every week but new film could not affect it business whether it was OUATIMD, Madras Cafe, Satyagraha, SDR or Zanjeer. Now Grand Masti has released and CE is available on fewer screens but it look as it will cross 221 crores benchmark.
Chennai Express is setting big mark
for any forthcoming film to either touch or break this benchmark. Nobody had ever think before release that it
will be so big hit that it will shatter almost 90% previous records. This film
has given great height to director Rohit Shetty whose film before Chennai
Express had just crossed 100 crores marks.
This is also great achievement for Shahrukh Khan whose film had not crossed 150 crores mark before this. If we talk about lead actress Deepika Padukone, this film has made her leading lady of the industry. She has given back to back three 100 crores film in this year; out of three one is 200 crores film.
