Man of the
Match: Ravindra Jadeja
Man of the
Sereis: Ravindrachandra Ashwin .
India
defeated Australia by 6 wickets in 4th test match and captured “Border Gavaskar
Trophy”. This is clear sweep of 4-0. As I remember it never happened in the history
of India Australia test series before. It is also a miraculous comeback of
Indian team form bad form. Few months ago, England had badly beaten Indian at home
and after that India also lost three matches series against Pakistan by 2-1 at
home.
Specialty of
this series was toss, Australia won toss in all four matches and lost all
matches. Indian side, few new faces got chance in test match and all they
proved their talent either talks about Murli Vijan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Dhawan or Ravindra Jadeja, they played
brilliantly. I would like to appreciate Ravindar Jadeja who got change to play
test match first time. He proved himself as an all rounder, which India need,
and emerged as 2nd highest wicket taker of the series.
Now talk
about 4th Test match. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, once
again their decision proved wrong when entire team got all out at 262 runs in
first inning. That time it seemed that once again Australia surrendered but
they did brilliant bowing and did strong came back in game. Bowler got advantage
of pitch which became dangerous and finished Indian inning at 272 with a small
lead of 10 runs.
But the
wicket was getting tough to play after each passing day and making a single run
become very difficult consequently Australia batsmen failed to face Indian bowler
on third day and entire team finished at 164 runs after lunch in 2nd inning. Condition would
have been worse if Siddle had not made brilliant 51 runs in first inning and 50
runs in second inning. Australia set target of 155 runs to win.
This target
was not easy to chase on this pitch. The pitch had great turn and irregular
bounce. Sometimes bow kept low too, so this little target of 155 runs was tough to
get, but Indian batsmen played brilliantly and chased target after losing 4
wickets. Once this target looked difficult when Sachin Tendulkar got out and
Australia had made great pressure on Indian batsman and to make 25 runs looked difficult but Dhoni played some
good shots and finished the game by a boundary.
India won
the series by 4-0. Ravinder Chandra Ashwin declared Man of the series for stupendous
performance in entire series with 29 wickest, Ravindra Jadeja declared Man of
the match for brilliant bowling in last match as well as Murli Vijay emerged as highest scorer in the series with 460 runs.
