Race 2 has
done fantastic business on 1st weekend and collected 62.50 crores worldwidely. This
is great achievement for Saif Ali Khan. This is his first film which has done
record breaking opening and record breaking first weekend collection.
Really, this
year is going to be most important year of his career. If the film continues
its performance on weekday it would be first 1 arab/ 100 crores film of 2013
and first 100 crores film of Saif Ali Khan.
No doubt, “Race” is rocking on box office
whenever it had earned mixed to negative reviews; audience did not accept
critic’s verdict and walks nearby theaters. The film got stupendous opening and
positive word of mouth has done rest of work.
The film also
got benefit of national holyday on Saturday after record making opening on
Friday. Performance on Sunday was somewhat affected by Englo-Indo 5th ODI but
film did fantastically and managed 17 crores. At the end of 1st weekend, it had
done business of 53 crores on home box office. Performance of the film is also
stupendous on international box office where it has collected around 9 crores
in three days.
There is
fair chance to cross the milestone of 100 crores in two weeks because there is
no competition. All it depends on the performance on weekday. Right now, 1st
Week domestic collection looks around 70 crores plus.
