“Matru Ke
Bijli Ka Mandola” did well on first weekend and collected 22.35 crores. The film
emerged as biggest opener (7 crores) of director Vishal Bhardwaj and lead actor
Imran Khan. So they should be happy with performance of the films. The film will get the status of hit film
The film has
done well on weekend and business on Monday is not bad; it showed 40% drop from
Friday which happens usually with any film, and collected about 4 crores. Now,
in four days it has collected 26.35 crores on home box office and first week
collection would come around 30-32 crores.
Performance
of the film on overseas centers is below average and it has collected only 1.80
crores. It is little bit worrying point but it is not a film of any superstar
nor released on a big number of screens.
As I told
yesterday, the film got “A” certificate from censor board and this type of film
has certain group of audience. So it cannot perform like a U certificate films
or U/A certificate films. “A” certificate stops the audience under 18; that
means 30-35% less audience.
