“Matru Ke
Bijli Ka Mandola” is doing good business on home box office and it has
collected 25.15 crores worldwidely at the end of first weekend. Since it is
released over around 1900 screens so this figure would not be said very good.
“MKBKM”
showed about 10% leap on Sunday and collected 7.60 crores which brings the total
first weekend domestic collection 21.35 crores nett. Now, 1st week collection
looks around 30-31 crores. Real test of the film will start on weekdays and it
will decide its future.
As I told
yesterday, the film got “A” certificate from censor board and this type of film
has certain group of audience. So it cannot perform like a U certificate films
or U/A certificate films. Whatever performance this film is doing is good. The
film has a good content but it is not able to attract audience. The reason is “A”
certificate which stops the audience under 18 that means 30-35% less audience.
The film is
doing good business in metro cities Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgown and Banglore but performance
at other big cities and multiplex is average. Most worrying thing for this film
is its performance at mass centers where it is performing below average. Let
see what happens on weekdays. Right now, it looks the film will get the status
of hit film.
