“Talaash”
performed as it was expected on Monday and add a valuable amount into total.
There was about 60% drop from Sunday which often happens on weekdays and it
managed Rs 7.30 crores. The film did fantastic
business on weekend and managed a handsome amount 47 crores.
Since it is Amir Khan’s film so there is lots
of expectation but it is not possible to bring every time film like, “3 Idiots”.
“3 idiots” had very rich and unique contents
which gave a new idea to youth and secret of its extraordinary success was its
content. So comparison of “Talaash”
which is a suspense thriller, with “3 Idiots” will not be a wise act as I told
earlier.
The film collected 7.30 crores on Monday and it is not a bad
amount if consider the content and less and late promotion. The trend developed
on Monday will bring the first week HBO collection around 65-67 crores. The film also did extraordinary
performance on Monday on international box office and fetched the total
overseas collection around 18 crores; first week
IBO would come around 25-28 crores.
The way in the first week is smooth but biggest challenge will start in second week when “Khiladi786”, which made enough buzz and already got musically hit, will release. Some
film experts hold this view that it would be biggest opener of Akshay’s career.
It will be released on broad scale and give tough competition.
So far the film has collected 72.25 crores worldwidely and 54.35 crores domestically. The business
of film will definitely affected by “Khiladi 786” in second week and it won’t
collect as it should be. It is difficult to say about life
time collection but right now, it looks around 90-100 crores on Home box
office; 45-50 crores on overseas and worldwide around 150 crores.
