Dabangg 2
had started well on Friday and collected 21.10 crores but the film fail to show
any improvement on Saturday. The worse thing happened with this film is that it
showed 22% drop on Saturday that is not good for film. The film is still in
good position but not in great. Earlier, in December, Talaash and Khiladi 786 had not got expected
opening but these two films had not showed any drop on Saturday and Sunday.
The film has
collected 17.80 crores on Saturday which is less than first day collection and there
is no much difference on Sunday’s trend. The trend on Sunday shows a slight
improvement. So Sunday collection would come around 18-20 crores, not 25-26
crores as it was expected. It is difficult to determine what real cause is. There
is lots of possibility of drop; it may be effect of cold wave running in North India
or 20-20 cricket match between India vs England or Protest against gang rape in
Delhi or similar content.
It may be
over dose of entertainment or whatever it be. From November, four big films have been released.
“Jab Tak Hia Jaan” and Son of Sardar” and
both of them did well and earned more than 100 crores. Three films released in
December; Talaash, Khiladi 786 and now, Dabangg 2.
Talaash and
Khiladi 786 did not get that kind of response which was expected but these two
films had not showed any fall on Saturday or Sunday. So there is something wrong
with Dabangg 2. Let see what type of treatment it is getting on coming day after
a stupendous opening.
Overall the
film has got stupendous response on overseas centers and collected more than 11
