Sonakshi Sinha emerged as most successful actress
of the Bollywood in 2012. She gave three big hit (100 cr) out of 4 films. She
also becomes first actress of Bollywood who gave 3 big hit, 1 arab (100 crores)
plus film in one year. She also got the opportunity to hold the honor of being owner
of biggest non-holiday opener.
Shonakshi
Sihna had debuted in the film industry through Dabangg in 2010 which was all
time blockbuster; earned more than 1.4 arab (140 crores) on home box office and
more than 2arab (200 crores) worldwidely.
In last three
years she has worked in five films, out of five, four crossed the milestone of
100 crores. Only one film “Joker” was not successful due to weak content and avoidance
of lead actor Akshay Kumar, who had some issue with film maker.
In year 2012, her first film “Rowdy Rathore” with
Akshay Kumar appeared as tornado on box office and shattered all previous
record of non-holiday opener. The film earned 136 crores on home box office and
got the status of all time blockbuster. Second film was “Joker” which could not
do much but third film “Son of Sardar”, released on the grand occasion of
Deepawali, earned 105 crores on home box office and got the status of hit film.
And her 4th and last film “Dabangg 2”
released on 21st December, crossed the mark of 1 arab (100 cr) on 6th day and
extending towards big hit.
There is an
interesting coincidence that Dabangg 2 has snatched the title biggest
non-holiday opener form Rowdy Rathore but Sonakshi is still holder of biggest
non-holiday opener; because she is lead actress of both films. Her film, “Rowdy
Rathore” was biggest opener till 20th December and after 20th
December, her film “Dabangg 2” is biggest non-holiday opener. Nothing change,
she is still holder of biggest non-holiday opener, only name got changed.
