Dhoom 3 - Bumper advance Booking

It seems that Amir Khan’s film Dhoom 3 will write a new history on the box office; it is not my opinion but it trend of latest advance booking. The film has taken historic advance booking so far whenever two day is left to release. 

On average, 50% tickets are sold out at noon of Wednesday across the country which is surprising itself. You can image what is craze of audience for Dhoom 3. This film is very special because first time Amir Khan is going to pay negative role. And film lovers are desperately waiting for it and it is obvious from advance booking trend.

Here, we bring trend of advance booking for you in some cities. 100% tickets of first two days are sold out in Patna in both multiplex and single screens and most probable it will be houseful for next two days. On average, above 50% tickets are sold out in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Kanpur and Hydrabad for opening days. Here are glimpses of trend of advance booking in following cities:-

Patna – 100% sold out for Friday & Saturday, above 60% for Sunday

Hyderabad – 92% sold out for Friday

Gurgaon – 56% sold out for Friday

Delhi – 52% sold out for Friday

Mumbai – 45% sold out for Friday

Kanpur – 49% sold out for Friday

In next two days it will be 100% for first day and fantastic for rest two days of weekend. On the basis of latest trend in these cities, you can say that Dhoom 3 will take bumper opening on Friday. It is sure that it will be biggest non-holiday opener but we cannot deny this fact that it can break Chennai Express’ (33.10 crores) opening day collection or Krrish 3’s (35.90 crores) highest single day collection. Let see what’s happens in next two days.

Dhoom 3 :- Prediction - Dhoom or Doom?

Dhoom 3 is one of the most awaited film of 2003 as well as last big film of the year. The film is starrer Amir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kai Diana Panty and Uday Chopra. As you know it is schedule to release on 20th December, 2013, just four days after today. So, let see what is prospect; will Dhoom make dhoom on the box office or doom? Will it be able to thrash “Chennai Express or Krrish 3’s record?

These are big question and answer are in the womb of time and as far as prospect is concerned, it is wonderful. The film has make awesome buzz in the market and advance booking till today is awesome, in short advance booking is historic. Since Amir Khan is coming after one year duration so film will get great love of audience.  His last film “Talash had come last year in December which missed 100 crores mark by few crores but the way Doom 3 is getting response, especially among juvenile and youth, film can shatter all previous record.

POTENTIAL: As far as potential is concerned this film has great potential, if everything would be good, it can go beyond all limitation. May be, it registered as first 300 crores film. Biggest factor of film is Amir Khan who lives in the heart of most of audience whether it is his own fan followers or other superstars. Amir Khan is only super star in the film industry who is loved by all whether it is Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar’s fan follower. And it is strongest aspect of this film. Another strongest aspect of this film is its franchise and production house “Yash Raj Films” and third aspect is presence of Katrina Kaif.

Though hero of film is Abhishek Bachchan but villain is taking credit of success from first installment.  Since it is series of super hit film so it will take bumper opening.  Presence of Amir Khan is giving assurance of good content. So you can image what will happen when it will release.

BUDGET: Though there is no official announcement from “Yash Raj Film” but it is suppose that it is around 115-125 crores (production cost 85-100 cr plus promotion and advertisement 20-25 crores).

PRE-RELEASE RECOVERY: Satellite right of film is suppose to be sold out at around 55-60 crores and music, video and other rights at around 10 crores.  Overall around 70 crores has been recovered excluding theatrical right.    

PREDICTION: Dhoom 3 is going to release over 4000 or more screen on home box office so opening should be around 38-40 crores but, since it is releasing on normal release day, Friday which is working day so opening should stay around 28-35 crores. Film can cross 100 crores marks in three days.

Though it is very difficult to predict any film specially these days as we have seen big budget big starrer film failed to do good business so real figure is entirely depend on audience’s mood, content and public response. Film is able to take good to excellent opening at the strength of Amir Khan’s star power  but rest of thing is depend on public. Since film is releasing on normal day so it is injustice to expect 70-100% occupancy on first day but it can be around 24-34 crores. Rest of prediction is following:-

CONCLUSION: It is projected figure of Dhoom 3, and it is predicted on the basis of production value and star value so real figure can vary. Most important factor is public response if it would be nice film can go beyond any expectation. If not recovery production cost would be difficult. 

Jackpot Weekend Collection poor

Canadian adult film star Sunny Leone starrer film Jackpot is struggling on the box office. The film has released on 13th December over 1300 screens but film opened with disappointing figure on first day despite enough promotion.

It seems that Sunny Leone has lost that popularity which she received from reality show Big boss. It was evident from her first film “Jishm 2” which did not get that kind of response from certain group of audience. 

Right now, her film is doing disappointing business on box office on fist weekend. The film had collected around 1.20 crores on Sunday and bring weekend collection around 3.35 crores. The film is completely washout and lifetime will finish around 6 crores.

Krrish 3 6th Week Collection- Mega blockbuster

Krrish 3 finished 6th week on home box office and collected around 40 lakhs. Now, it is shrunken over fewer screens so collection is coming in that ratio. It is biggest hit of the year so far also biggest grosser film of Indian cinema. 

This is big budget film has done big business on home box office as well as on international box office and the mark set by film is very high and it will be difficult for any film to go beyond it. Let see what happens next because Amir Khan’s film “Dhoom 3” is scheduled to release over 4000 screen on 20th December. So there is great possibility that this record will shattered and in next year, Salman Khan’s “Jai Ho” has the potential to break this record.

On the whole, Krrish 3 has done exceptionally well performance and snatched title of biggest grocer film of Indian cinema from Chennai Express. Now, it has finished 6th week and total domestic collection is reached arund 232.50 crores.
